Salesian Institutes of Higher Education (IUS) – Under this banner gather together all the Higher Education Institutes governed and owned by the Salesians. Together with the residence for the University students and the numerous Salesians who work in the world of University education is formed the Presence of the Salesians in Higher Education.
IUS, present in 4 continents (Africa, America, Asia and Europe) and spread out in 21 countries, today functions as a network of nearly 75 institutes for Higher Education. Different from each other in their nature and the courses offered, they are academic communities commited to serve the young people, particularly those who are poor, with a clear educative and pastoral vision. As Catholic and Salesian Higher Education institutions they have a specific mission: “to promote the integral development of the young through assimilation and critical revision of the culture and the education of faith, in view of a Christian transformation of society”. (Regulation of the Congregation of Salesians of Don Bosco. Art.13)
